I fixed my problem with this:

ALTER TABLE `tablename` CONVERT TO CHARACTER SET utf8 COLLATE utf8_unicode_ci

After I used this to give me a specific error message:
die(mysql_error());

The strange part about this error is that I have a blog in the same MySQL database using the default collate, so why did I have to change it on the Ninja Affiliate tables for the second blog? I have no idea.

But it works now. I hope someone with the same problem can figure out something from my experience.

Support has not answered my questions on the same errors that Bill Vick reported here.

Can anyone here tell me what causes this and how to fix it?

I have exactly the same problem:
MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate has stopped working for me and now blocks me from making any posts.
Warning: mysql_query() [function.mysql-query]: Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket…

All other WP things work fine…..

Could you please help me?

Seems nice pluggin, l am using adsense and l dont have quiete much affiliates that l am hardering to manage them so l am willing to try it later. thanks for the post.

I have this plugin and think it is great! In my opinion, It is the best way to organize and promote affiliate links on your blog.

Sounds like your mysql server isn’t running, or your login string is incorrect.

Thanks for the wp-ninja review, it sounds like a great plugin, I may give it a shot to see how much better it is over the free wp aff plugins.

I love this product and had problems getting WP Affilate Pro working on my site. Both products appear similar in functions and results.

However, the MaxBlogPress Ninja Affiliate has stopped working for me and now blocks me from making any posts.
