For those of you that enjoy beta testing software, or just want to see the new look and features of WordPress 2.7, you’ll be happy to know that the WordPress 2.7 Beta 1 is now available for testing.  Please keep in mind that if you decide to test this software, it is best to do so in a test environment, rather than on a live blog.

A Couple WordPress 2.7 Beta 1 Notes:

  • There are still some browser issues that are to be fixed, so they recommend you do your testing in either Firefox or Safari.  Issues will be fixed prior to release.
  • The scheduled release date has been postponed at least two weeks to around November 24th or later.

  1. That is awesome. I can’t wait for it to go live! I kinda want to test it on my gaming blog but I want it to be solid first.

  2. I’ve tried it out and it’s pretty cool on the back-end. There are a few things I’m not crazy about, but what’re you gonna do?

  3. Good news,I am always waiting for it!

  4. I prefer not to upgrade my wordpress blog now. Just wait and see for few weeks

Not a fan of the new admin center. Will probably stick with 2.6 until there are enough plugins to make the Admin Center usable again. Too many clicks no for my liking and it has that super ugly Macintosh styling (personal preference is I hate the Charcoal look of Macs).

Wordpress 2.7 is bringing a new visual design. This design is almost completely implemented, but there are still a few areas that aren’t quite finished in Beta 1.
