I install using Fantastico typically, but I haven&#039;t had any problem upgrading using the WPAU plugin mentioned above.

However, there are a lot of factors such as your web hosting company, your settings, customizations you&#039;ve made to the source code, etc. that all factor into potential problems with the upgrade using a WordPress plugin.

Unless you are comfortable with restoring a backup, I would suggest proceeding with caution or continuing to use Fantastico.</description>

However, last time I wanted to use on of the plugin you mention to upgrade (instant upgrade and automatic), and I read that for Fantastico users (i.e those who installed their WP with Fantastico), they are not safe to use. I saw that on the plugin homepages... in the comment and as a warning.</description>
