Here is this weeks collection of WordPress-related posts:

  • WordPress Developer’s Toolbox – Smashing Magazine is at it again, this time providing a useful toolbox for WordPress developers.   We were fortunate enough to have about 5 of our posts featured here.
  • WordPress for iPhone Downloaded 100,000+ Times – If you think about how many iPhones are in circulation after only a couple years in existence, this is truly an amazing statistic and a great sign for WordPress.
  • Feed Pauser WordPress Plugin – Keith of Techie-Buzz (also Weblog Tools Collection) has released an awesome new WordPress plugin that pauses a post from being made available through RSS.  Click over to get a more detailed description.
  • Different Ways to Display Content in WordPress – Devito Design does a great job of sharing a bunch of different ways to display your blogs content in WordPress.

WordPress News & Notes – September 5, 2008

Here are some WordPress-related links that I hope everyone will enjoy:

  • 100+ Killer WordPress Resources – Steffan Antonas, who has been a big supporter of this site, has published a huge list of WordPress resources.   If you are looking for additional tweaks you can do on your blog this is a great place to start.
  • When to Use a Magazine-Style Theme – Smashing Magazine recently took a look at magazine/news WordPress themes and tried to determine when you should or shouldn’t consider using one.   This is a very detailed and well researched write up that i recommend to anyone considering making the switch for their blog.
  • Stop Blaming the WordPress Team – Are you to quick to blame the WordPress team for problems with your WordPress installation?   Jeff Chandler basically took my thoughts on this matter and wrote it down into an incredible post.   A HUGE portion of the problems people experience with WordPress are usually due to an issue with a WordPress plugin made by someone that isn’t on or affiliated with a WordPress team.
  • First Look at WordPress 2.7 – Another great post by Jeff at Weblog Tools Collection.   This one offers a very detailed early look at what to expect for WordPress 2.7.

Here are a few WordPress-related links I’ve enjoyed over the past few weeks:

  • How To Display Code in WordPress Posts – Leland of Theme Lab has posted some tips/plugins you can use to help you display code in your WordPress posts.
  • 40+ WordPress Tricks and Hacks – Hongkiat has another good collection of WordPress hacks and other guides, including a few of ours.
  • WordPress 2.6 Disabling XML-RPC By Default? – James Mowery of Performancing takes a look at the effects of WordPress 2.6 coming with XML-RPC disabled by default, which will hopefully reduce security risks.  Unfortunately, this will also pose a problem for people that write their posts in 3rd party blogging software such as Windows Live Writer and will have to be manually enabled.
  • 20+ Must Have WordPress 2.5 Compatible Plugins – Mashable has posted over 20 WordPress plugins that are compatible with WordPress 2.5.
