WordPress Plugin Competition Results Announced
Weblog Tools Collection has announced the winners for this years WordPress plugin competition. Thanks to everyone who participated for contributing to the WordPress community and congrats to all the winners!

My favorite thing about this competition is that it can provide inspiration for someone who otherwise might have not taken the time to create a WordPress plugin. In looking for the list of plugins submitted, I think that several of these plugins will find a large userbase and be around for years to come.

Update on the 2008 WordPress Plugin Competition
I’ve always been a big fan of the WordPress plugin competition, which is run annually by the team over at Weblog Tools Collection. The WordPress community has always been great, but running a competition and offering prizes is a great incentive for more useful plugins to be created.
I knew the plugin competition was close to being complete, but it wasn’t until recently that I saw an almost complete list of the plugins that have been submitted. It looks like a total of 51 WordPress plugins ended up being submitted! This list is courtesy of Lorelle over at Blog Herald:
