There has been a lot of anticipation building for WordPress 2.4, which has been in the works for awhile now. There are going to be several positive changes, but one that has gotten some mixed reviews are the planned changes to the look of the WordPress dashboard.
Though we don’t have a release candidate ready to view yet, Hyper123.net has posted a live preview of the WordPress 2.4 dashboard. Not every feature included functions properly, but it will give you an idea of what we can expect in WordPress 2.4.
Here is a screenshot of the WordPress 2.4 dashboard:

What do you think about this early look at the change?

It is probably a little early to make any judgements but I must admit that I was hoping for something more radical.
Perhaps that was always going to be an unrealistic desire, after all, I suppose there isn’t really anything wrong with the current theme.
I’m more interested in the speed. I hope the dashboard loads between tabs faster. I’d also love it if WordPress was less sore on bandwidth. It’s such a resource hog in comparison to Textpattern.
I tried to leave my personal opinion out of the original post, but I have to say I really dislike the changes so far.
Both the colors and the setup aren’t very appealing, but I suppose I’m just resistant to change.
