It really depends on your preferences. Some people prefer manual upgrades so they have full control, or they feel the need to because they have altered certain behaviors. If you don't mind having the extra plugin installed, though, then I definitely recommend one of the two mentioned above! @ Mark – I’m a big fan of the WPAU plugin by Keith (review found here), but I also have heard great things about the One-click Upgrade plugin.
