This post came at the right time when I was asking myself why isn’t there a plugin that would count the # of subscribers?

@ Richard – I think it depends on the blog setup, but I think in many cases it could be better than the chicklet.

@ Jeffro – Right on! Whether it is right or not, it is a fact that people will judge your blog by your subscriber count, and that includes negatively. And they don’t check to see how old the blog is first before making their judgment.

I like the Feedburner chicklet, but I like the idea of this for some themes where you can style it to look good on the theme. This plugin has really allowed some people to get very creative!

Interesting plugin. I agree with your thoughts on when to publicly display a blogs subscriber count. Too little and people get the impression the blog sucks, too many and people subscribe automatically because everyone else thinks the site is good enough. I too prefer the feedburner chicklet but I have it displayed at the bottom of the site. I only have 400 RSS subscribers so I’m not sure if I should move it to the top of leave it down there.

At any rate, glad to see there are other options available to show off your popularity.
