Over the past year, a new trend has developed where bloggers and small business owners are bypassing paying a web designer a lot of money for a custom theme and instead purchasing a premium WordPress theme for their website or blog. These themes usually feature a much more unique look and more functionality than the free WordPress themes available, are widget ready and include a more advanced control panel which allows you to setup the theme without touching any code. You’ll also get support directly for the theme author(s) as well!
Magazine and News themes seem to be the most popular premium themes right now, but pretty much all content management system (CMS) themes seem to be selling really well. There is some great work out there, and more and more web designers are releasing premium WordPress themes each day, so I figured this was a good time to put together a premium WordPress theme gallery to help people looking to purchase a unique and highly customizable WordPress theme. Obviously everyone has different tastes so this method allows each individual to pick out the design that meets their personal needs!
In order for this post to maintain its relevance, it is updated regularly with new premium WordPress themes as they are released. When possible, I’ve also provided feature descriptions for the theme or theme framework, as well as links to view and/or purchase the theme from the author.

Nice list and you get what you pay for. I’ve purchased a couple of these nice themes and it’s been worth every penny. I’ve got the Revolution Sports theme going here http://www.realestateweblog.org and the WP Remix theme going on my link above. Lots of custom scripting but the framework and design was where I was looking to save time.

That is the most recent version of the Live Comment Preview plugin. It is currently bugged to not show for the Admin, but it works for everyone else. I’ll be featuring it in a post here shortly.

WHile I like all of these themes…. as a users of the FREE premium theme Mimbo for my website… I can’t wait to see the final version of Darren’s “Mimbo Pro” theme. Seems to have in store a lot that these older themes are lacking

And while there are some great free WordPress themes that are definitely worth checking out, some people just aren’t comfortable hacking their own WordPress theme! Hey Kyle, I may be wrong, but the Poker theme looks like a simple rehash of http://www.revolutiontheme.com/sports/ The colors, layout and even content blocks are the same, only thing that seems different is the images that are used.
I think there is some hanky panky going on with that Gambling theme. Brian Gardner says his themes can not be resold in any shape or form.
Never mind, I contacted Brian Gardner and he gave me the 411 on the Gambling site using his theme and apparently, the appropriate permission has been given out.
@ Jeffro – No problem! It does like very similar to the Revolution themes, but has an insane amount of changes done to it. I assume Brian gets a cut of each one sold (or I would hope!).

Cool set of themes. I’ve noticed quite a few of these developers moving to the subscription model. Interesting, I would love to see their books regarding sales so I could know how they came to that decision.

My eyes glaze over pretty quickly looking at lots of demos and I also get bored with seeing so many lookalike themes/variants.
I would find it more useful if Premuim themes could be reviewed on the basis of:-
1.The degree of control offered through a user friendly control panel and whether customisation involves touching code directly – especially if core code is involved.
2. An evaluation of the control panels themselves
3. A look at how frequently these themes are updated and what it involves for the owners.
4. How vibrant is the community that supports/owns them? Does it have an active helpful forum for example
5. How well it plays with popular plugins/widgets and what is built in?
I appreciate that such a review is alot of work but it would be a valuable resource!

great list of premium tempalates, we should search very good be4 we decide to buy which one is fit for our blog, becouse there are hundreds of amazing templates over web or we can create one costum one for us.
great theme, we have build our own ecommerce style theme for wordpress as well, test drive it on live demo, a note will be appreciated.

The best WordPress theme I know so far are the Revolution Themes by Brian Gardner. I’ve been shifting from one theme to another for over 2 months now until I stumble upon this awesome theme – the Revolution Music. I find it very professional, modern and stylish. Fantastic collection! I think Productz is my favorite theme, because templatic really improved on their design and framework from the iphone app theme, and now you can choose any product you want!
